Upcoming Project

Custom Homes by Asheville NC Home Builder Luxury Homes and Green Building Services

This Luxury, Green Home was designed by Gregory Saxon of FMD architects. Its on a challenging building site that is very steep and faces North. Its an excellent design that left many of the specifications up to the Builder which is common practice in our area. By involving us early in the design process, we were able to work with the Engineer, Architect and Energy Rater to reduce the construction costs by tens of thousands of dollars.  Had the homeowner hired a different home builder, its possible this home would have resulted in outrageous heating costs, inadequate cooling and ventilation, and numerous frivolous energy upgrades. We are still working on bringing this home into budget and hope to start construction in the Spring.

We are currently working with several clients in different stages of site/lot acquisition for different variations on the Springtime Cottage. Please contact us about any projects we might be able to help you with.

Architect chooses Asheville based Springtime Homes for personal home addition in Charlotte NC.

Pictures from our most recent project. Eco-panel Polyurethane SIPS roof panels for the personal home of Charlotte architect Tom Moore.

Architect Tom Moore's personal home addition.        Glenn Leplant, professional SIPS rigger prepares the next panel.

The first SIPS panel is ready for attachment. These polyurethane SIPS from Eco-Panels are made from polyurethane foam and boast an impressive R40 in only 6.5" of thickness.       Springtime Home's owner lowers a particularly tricky panel into place. This roof had many challenging field cuts and modifications compared to many SIP roofs.

Architect Tom Moore was able to locally source the pine needed for the shorter structural beams and used Douglas Fir for the longer valley and rafter beams.                               This will be a very attractive interior thatnks to the exposed beams, framing and vaults yet will be much more airtight and continuously insulated compared to traditional techniques.
