Brian Knight, founder of Springtime Homes, has had a long history in both construction and environmental pursuits. Mr. Knight graduated Magna Cum Laude from Appalachian State University, where he completed his Bachelor of Science with double majors in Construction Technology and Appropriate Technology.
Immediately upon graduation, Mr. Knight began work for Centex Homes of Greenville, SC, as a field manager. He quickly became one of the top performing field managers and oversaw construction of more than 60 homes during his tenure. His success landed him a superintendent position with Community Concepts of Carolina, a builder specializing in high-end, luxury estates at the Cliffs of Walnut Cove. He also gained experience as a project manager for Vista Developers, where he was responsible for the quality control of their spec homes and ensuring compliance of erosion and sediment control regulations.
Mr. Knight lives in Asheville, NC with his dog Scout. His passion for outdoor activities has taken him to many remote locations, and in 1996 he thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail, sustaining himself for months on a single induction cook top. If you can't get a hold of him, he is probably kayaking nearby on the Green River narrows. Mr. Knight also enjoys playing his banjo, mandolin, guitar and fiddle, in his increasingly rare time off from work.
